With over 38 years of experience in the external façade and roofing sector, Mike is one of the UK’s leading specialists in fire safety consulting. Following the Grenfell tragedy in 2017, he has dedicated his expertise exclusively to fire safety, conducting comprehensive fire risk assessments for both external walls and internal areas of multi-occupancy residential buildings.

In 2015, Mike founded MAF Associates in Leicestershire with a primary focus on expert witness work. He has since adapted and developed MAF Associates into a prominent fire safety consultancy, leveraging his deep knowledge of building structures and materials to effectively assess risks related to external walls. Since its inception, MAF Associates has expanded into a full-service fire safety consultancy, offering a comprehensive range of services supported by qualified chartered fire and structural engineers.

Mike is a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Building Engineers and a full member of the Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate. Additionally, he holds full membership in the Institute of Fire Safety Managers and maintains affiliations with various other quality-led organisations.
