Job Advert: Senior Fire Engineer
MAF Associates is looking for an experienced Senior Fire Engineer to join our growing team across the UK.

The Role
- Deliver fire engineering strategies and reports
- Conduct fire risk assessments and fire safety reviews
- Provide technical guidance on Building Regulations and BS 9999 / BS 9991
- Engage with clients, architects, and local authorities
- Lead projects from inception through to completion
- Mentor junior engineers and support team development
- Produce commercially viable fee proposals and support bid management stages
- Manage projects effectively and efficiently
- Develop External Wall Fire Appraisals using PAS 9980
- Apply knowledge of external wall build-ups and material fire performance
- Utilise fire engineering principles using PD 7974 suites of standards
- International fire engineering experience using standards such as NFPA is advantageous
What We’re Looking For
- Degree-qualified in Fire Engineering or a related discipline
- Chartered or working towards chartership (IFE, CIBSE, or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and Approved Document B
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with performance-based fire engineering design
- Experience developing Fire Risk Appraisals for External Walls using PAS 9980
